AN ATTEMPTED BUSINESS ROBBERY SUSPECT ARRESTED AT MOKOPANE
POLOKWANE: A 19-year-old male suspect involved in an attempted business robbery was arrested at Mokopane on Saturday, 25 May 2024 at about 12:00.
The arrest of the suspect emanates after the accused attempted to rob one of the shops in Mokopane Retief Street on Saturday afternoon.
An unknown African male entered the shop wearing a white mask. Afterwards, he stood next to the counter holding a black bag, took out a knife, and threatened the victim to hand in the vípes they were selling. The victim immediately pressed the panic button, and the suspects fled the scene.
The security officers gave chase to the suspect, arrested him, and notified the police.
He was detained at the local police station.
The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe,
commended the Security members’ quick response in apprehending the perpetrator and handing him over to the authorities.
The suspect will appear before Mokopane regional court in due course.
