MAN ALLEGEDLY CAUGHT RAPING DISABLED WOMAN AT MAFEFE VILLAGE, MALIPISDRIFT TO APPEAR IN COURT
POLOKWANE A 33-year-old man who was caught allegedly raping a disabled woman in Mafefe Mataung Village in Malipisdrift policing area outside Lebowakgomo on Monday, 20 May 2024 is expected to appear before Thabamoopo Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
The victim, age 23, was alone at home at about 08:00 when the suspect, who was a family friend, came to the house and found her alone. The suspect took the disabled woman to her mother’s room, where he started to rape her.The victim’s mother returned and caught the suspect in the act. She immediately requested assistance from the community members. Police were called and swiftly apprehended the suspect.
The provincial commissioner of police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has strongly condemned the rape incident.The General emphasized the heinous nature of the crime and the importance of protecting vulnerable individuals.
Police investigations are still continuing.
