31-YEAR-OLD MAN ACCUSED OF MURDER OF UNKNOWN MAN IN BOTLOKWA TO APPEAR IN COURT

POLOKWANE: A 31-year-old man who allegedly stoned to death an unknown man in Botlokwa on Tuesday night, 27 February 2024, is expected to appear before Morebeng Magistrate’s Court on Thursday 29 February.

The arrest emanates from an incident in which the suspect allegedly found an unknown man at his parental home in Ga-Makgato, Letjatjane Village and became aggressive towards him. The suspect assaulted the victim with stones. Police and emergency medical services were summoned to the scene.

The unknown victim was certified dead at the scene, and the suspect was arrested at his home.

Preliminary information revealed that the suspect accused the victim of having an affair with his mother after he found him at his home. According to the suspect’s mother, who sells cow bones, the victim was just a regular customer.

The victim might be in his forties, and was wearing white work suits.

The Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has expressed profound shock and utter dismay at this cruel act. “Such act of brutality cannot and will not be tolerated under any circumstances,” Said Lieutenant General Hadebe.
