Two White Suspects Arrested for unleashing piet bulls to a guard

TWO SUSPECTS ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT GBH REMANDED IN CUSTODY

POLOKWANE: Two suspects, a security company owner Piet Groenewald (63) and his son Stephan Groenewald (27) arrested for Assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm on Thursday 18 January 2014 at Groblersdal appeared before the Groblersdal Magistrate’s Court on Friday 19 January 2024. They were remanded in custody to Wednesday, 24 January 2024, for bail application.

According to the preliminary information, the 30 year old victim was performing his guard duties at a network tower battery on Wednesday morning , 17 January 2024, at Kwagafointein, Mpumalanga province, when his supervisor paid an oversight visit. He then accused the victim of being intoxicated while on duty, and as a result, he drove with him to Groblersdal in Limpopo province to discuss the matter with the manager. Upon arrival, the two got into an argument that resulted in the manager hitting the victim with a hard object.

The manager allegedly instructed a male relative to unleash their pet dog on the victim. The dog bit the victim on both legs.

The victim reported the incident to the police, and a case of assault GBH was opened. The two suspects, aged  63 and 27, were traced and arrested the following day and appeared in Groblersdal Magistrate’s Court on Friday 2024/01/19.

Police investigations are still underway.
