POSITIVE INFORMATION LED TO THE ARREST OF A 39-YEAR-OLD MAN, LINKED TO THE MURDER OF HIS WIFE AGED 33 AT WITTE MARAISE VILLAGE

POLOKWANE: The Police Detectives in Senwabarwana and Tshilwavhusiku arrested a 39-year-old male suspect, who allegedly killed his wife aged 33, by stabbing her with an unknown instrument, in Witte Maraise village, Senwabarwana policing Precinct.

According to reports, on Wednesday, 17 January 2024, Police were summoned to the said village, after a 15-year-old girl, found her mother lying in a pool of blood at her grandparent’s house, where her mother was staying after separated with her father(suspect) during August 2023. The daughter broke open the gate-lock after, she knocked, and there was no response.

Police arrived at the scene with emergency personnel, and the victim was certified dead.

A case of murder was opened to trace and arrest the suspect. On Thursday, 18 January 2024, at around 11h30, the Police arrested the suspect at muduruni village under the Tshilwavhusiku policing area in Vhembe District.

The Acting Provincial Commissioner of Limpopo SAPS Major General Jan Scheepers has condemned the incident and encouraged domestic violence victims to stand bold and report these cases in time.

The suspect will appear before Senwabarwana magistrate’s court on Friday, 19 January 2024, facing a case of murder.

The Police investigations are still ongoing.
