AN EXCOP AGED 58 ARRESTED, AND POLICE RECOVERED SUSPECTED STOLEN VEHICLES, TRAILERS AND OTHER PROPERTIES DURING THE OPERATION

POLOKWANE: SAPS Groblersdal Crime Prevention, Members of VCIU Modimolle and Groblersdal, together with Groblersdal Rural Safety and Groblersdal Private Security firms arrested 58-year-old suspect, who is the owner of warehouse and funeral parlour for possession of suspected stolen motor vehicles, and other properties at Groblersdal and Moteti in Dennilton Policing Precincts, on Monday, 15 January 2024.

The team activated an operation focused on stolen motor vehicles at Groblersdal and Dennilton areas under Sekhukhune District.

During the operation Police recovered the following suspected stolen properties, including motor vehicles at Waterbok Street in Groblersdal, a warehouse, and funeral parlour at Moteti in Dennilton:

1) Hyundai H1 minibus reported stolen at Mondeor Police Station during July 2021.
2) Mercedus Benz Vito minibus reported stolen at Boipatong Police Station during September 2023.
3) Flatdeck trailer numbers grinded off
4) Ford Ranger s/cab reported stolen at Vaalbank Police Station during December 2023.
5) Toyota Fortuner with Chassis/engine number grinded and restamped
6) 1 x fridge trailer, no tags, numbers grinded off
7) Flatdeck trailer, no tags, chassis number grinded off.

The Provincial Commissioner of Limpopo SAPS Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has praised the team for recovering the stolen vehicles and arresting the suspect.
“This arrest will solve many of our problems relating to vehicle smuggling and theft. We shall make sure that the net closes for all those who are part of this syndicate, ” Concluded Lieutenant General Hadebe.

The suspect will appear soon before the local magistrate courts.
