TWO CAR JACKING SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN VHEMBE DISTRICT
POLOKWANE: Two male suspects aged 19 and 23 were apprehended by the members of the Limpopo Provincial Visible Task Team, Thohoyandou Public Order Policing (POPS) and Vhembe District Detectives in connection with car jackings incidents that occurred between Monday 01 and Tuesday 02 January 2024 at Tshivhulani village.
It is reported that police received information about the location of these two suspects and immediately commenced with a joint operation search of the duo.
The operation subsequently led to the apprehension of the two while at their hideout in Lwamondo under Thohoyandou policing area on Wednesday 03 January 2024 at about 16:00.
The duo are likely to be linked with a series of other car jacking and other related cases committed last year 2023 in Thohoyandou policing precinct.
During the arrest, police seized a Toyota Yaris motor vehicle , believed to have been utilized during the commission of crimes.
The suspects are expected to appear before the Thohoyandou Magistrate court soon to face charges of car jacking.
Police investigations are continuing.
