POLICE PROMPT REACTION LED TO THE ARREST OF THREE ROBBERY SUSPECTS AND RECOVERY OF UNLICENSED FIREARMS
POLOKWANE: Three suspects aged between 29 and 43 were nabbed through positive information received from the security company on Tuesday, 12 December 2023, at around 13h00.
Members of Mokopane Vispol and Detectives, while on operation, spotted a white Nissan Micra vehicle with three occupants, including the driver, tactically stopped and searched at Corner Geyser and Thabo Mbeki streets in Mokopane policing area.
Three suspects were found in possession of one unlicensed firearm(pistol), one rifle and ammunition. They were immediately arrested for possession of unlicensed firearms and possession of ammunition. The pistol was found being stolen at Polokwane in July 2023. Suspects are also linked with Mokopane business robbery case, which occurred during October 2023 at Mokopane Post Office. Suspects might be linked with more cases.
The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, Lieutenant General, Thembi Hadebe has commended the Police for continuously being effective and dealing with criminals decisively.
The suspects will soon appear before the Mokopane magistrate’s court to face charges of business robbery and unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.
Investigations are still ongoing.
