FOUR SUSPECTS NABBED FOR ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF A PANGOLIN
GAUTENG – Four suspects aged between 37 and 67 were arrested by members of the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation, Crime Intelligence and K9 Benoni for possession of a pangolin in Mondeor on 06 November 2023.
The suspects were arrested at Bassonia Shopping Centre after the team followed up on information and found the quartet in possession of a pangolin.
They will make their first appearance before the Booysens Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 08 November 2023 for contravention of the National Environmental Management Biodiversity Act 10 of 2004.
Meanwhile, the pangolin has been handed over to the Department of Environmental Affairs
