A 33 YEAR-OLD MALE SUSPECT NABBED FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER OF HIS STEPMOTHER IN MASISI PRECINCT
MASISI: A 33 year-old male suspect allegedly responsible for attempted murder of his stepmother last month October 2023 was nabbed at Madimbo village in Vhembe District on Thursday, 02 November 2023.
The suspect was apprehended during an operation that was conducted by the multidisciplinary forces.
Preliminary investigations indicated that the suspect had a heated argument with his step mother who was subsequently attacked by her stepson with a sharp object. The victim sustained severe injuries on the upper body and later admitted at a local hospital for medical attention.
The motive of the incident is not yet established, however unconfirmed reports suggest that the two had internal conflicts over the cattle which the suspect was selling without the family’s consent.
Afterwards, the stepson managed to flee the scene and the incident was reported at Masisi Police’ Station who opened a case of an attempted murder.
Police received information about the location of the suspect and immediately started with investigations which led them to his hideout at Madimbo village under Tshamutumbu precinct prior to his arrest on Thursday 02 November 2023.
The suspect is expected to appear before the Masisi Periodical court soon facing charges of attempted murder.
Police investigations are continuing.
