FOUR UNIVEN STUDENTS ARE OUT ON BAIL FOR PUBLIC VIOLENCE.
The Thohoyandou Magistrates’Court has granted R1500.00 bail to the following students of University of Venda,Tshamano Gudani(25), Luthingi Vhutshilo (23), Mutepe Lufuno (22) and Nedzanani Elekanyani (22), they are facing charges of public violence, tampering with essential infrastructure and malicious damage to property.
It is alleged that on 12 September 2023 in Thohoyandou University of Venda, the suspects were protesting at the gate of the University until the main road of Khoroni hotel. They uprooted the robots and also damaged certain shops in Venda plaza. They further set alight police vehicle. The suspects were arrested on 21 September 2023 in Thohoyandou.
The matter is postponed to 08 December 2023 for further investigation.
