TWO MEN APPEARED IN COURT FOR POSSESSION OF SUSPECTED STOLEN MOTOR VEHICLE

The two suspects, Zimbabwean and Malawian nationals, Voughan Tinashe Muhezua (31) and Ayidi Yufuf Tabu (41) have appeared briefly in Nebo Magistrates’ Court for possession of suspected stolen motor vehicle.

It is alleged that on 15 September 2023 at Ga-Masemola, the South African Police Service flying squad were on patrol when they spotted two Toyota Fortuners being driven by the suspects in different times, they had suspicion that the vehicles were stolen as they noticed that most of the component in the vehicle were loose and the vin number had been tempered with. When they checked on their system, the vehicles were reported stolen and the drivers failed to provide proof of ownership. The suspects were then arrested on the same day of the incident.

The matter is postponed to 20 September 2023 for legal representative of accused 1 (Muhezua) and for Shona interpreter of accused 2 (Tabu). The accused persons will remain in custody.
