MODJADJISKLOOF POLICE NAB A 37 YEAR-OLD MALE FOR POSSESSION OF SUSPECTED STOLEN MOTOR VEHICLE

POLOKWANE: A 37 year-old male suspect was nabbed for being in possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle along the R81 public road between Mooketsi Weigh Bridge and Filling Station under Modjadjiskloof Policing precinct last night on Friday 01 September 2023 at about 23:00.

A White Toyota Prado valued at over R600.000 was reported stolen last month on August at Hartbeespoortdam Police Station in North West Province.

The motor vehicle was tracked by K9 Anti- Hijacking Tracking Security Company who collaborated with Modjadjiskloof Police’ for its recovery in the Mopani District.

The motor vehicle with Gauteng registration number was stopped and searched. Police discovered that it was cloned with a falsified licence disc that does not correspond with the original North West Registration number.

The authentic owner of the motor vehicle was identified and the suspect was immediately placed under an arrest on the spot.

The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in LImpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe hailed the collaborative efforts by the teams involved in the arrest and subsequent recovery of the vehicle.

The suspect will appear before Bolobedu Magistrate’s Court on Monday 04 September 2023 facing charges of being in possession of suspected stolen motor vehicle.

Police investigations are continuing.
