TAX EVADER FOUND GUILTY
NORTHERN CAPE – Kimberley Specialised Commercial Crime Court convicted Lebogang Tsaone Seretse (24) and her Company (juristic person) Kemoagile Construction and Projects Management (PTY) LTD on Thursday, 27 July 2023 for contravention of Tax Administration Act and Value Added Tax Act.
The conviction comes after Miss Tsaone Seretse, as a director of Kemoagile Construction and Projects Management (PTY) LTD, failed to register her company with the Commissioner of the South African Revenue Services (SARS). The accused was legally bound to register her company as Value Added Tax vendor within an applicable period, after exceeding an income of R1 Million over a period of 12 month.
The accused were sentenced as follows, accused number one Tsaone Seretse sentenced to a fine of R50 000, wholly suspended. Kemoagile Construction and Project Management, sentenced to a fine of R50 000 or 12 months imprisonment.
