TWO ACCUSED HOUSE ROBBERS SENTENCED
MPUMALANGA-Two accused, Thulane Skosana and Thulani Skhosana were convicted this week on the 24 May 2023 were convicted and sentenced by the (name of court).
It is reported that on 14 May 2015, the accused committed a house robbery in Embalenhle, where they took R5000 and cellphones. Again, on 24 July 2015, it was reported that whilst the complainant was asleep, three unknown suspects broke down the door and robbed him of his 9mm norinco firearm.
In another incident on 06 September 2015, the accused were involved in a fight wherein the victim was fatally wounded in Secunda. They were later arrested for murder, house robberies, attempted murder, armed robberies and their bail was successfully opposed thus they remained in custody following their court appearances until the cases were final They were guilty on 24 May 2023.
Thulane Skosana was sentenced to fifteen (15) years imprisonment for murder, five (5) years imprisonment for attempted murder, five (5) years imprisonment, 10 years house robbery, ten (10) years imprisonment and two (2) for pointing of firearm imprisonment whilst his accomplice Thulani Skosana was sentenced to ten (10) years imprisonment for house robbery.
The Provincial Head of Mpumalanga, Maj Gen Gerber expressed his gratitude and applauded a job well done by both the investigating team as well as the prosecution team for their dedication and due diligence to bring the perpetrators of the heinous crimes which terrorized the community of Embalenhle.
