LIMPOPO OPERATION WU KWIHI NAWU HITS HARD ON CRIME

POLOKWANE The members of Groblersdal Crime Intelligence Unit teamed up with Marble Hall Crime Prevention Unit during operation Wu Kwihi Nawu conducted in the Sekhukhune District which led to the arrest of a 36-year-old suspect shortly after he committed house breaking and theft yesterday, 25 May 2023 in Marble Hall.

The suspect was arrested at his place of residence at Koteng informal settlement in Marble Hall policing precinct after police received a positive tip-off. Subsequently, the suspect’s house was searched and one unlicensed firearm with ammunition, electronic pentax camera, plasma television set as well as dagga were confiscated.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the electronics were stolen during house breaking committed earlier in the day.

The Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has expressed her appreciation and gratitude to all the SAPS members in the province for ensuring that the streets are protected and illegal firearms are removed from the wrong hands of criminals.

The suspect will appear before the Groblersdal Magistrate’s Court on Monday 29 May 2023, facing charges of possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition, possession of suspected stolen properties and possession of dagga.
