A COUPLE IS ARRESTED IN HLOGOTLOU FOR MURDER OF EIGHT YEAR OLD DAUGHTER
POLOKWANE :The Police in Hlogotlou have arrested Mozambican nationals couple of the ages 31 female and 35 male suspects following the death of 8 years old female child at Mogaung village in Sekhukhune District on Wednesday 24 May 2023.
According to the information available at this stage it is alleged that the deceased was staying with her step mother and her biological father in an abusive situation.
It is reported that the community members around the area of the cuople’s household became aware of the situation that the victim was living under whereby she was physically being abused by her parents.
It is reported that on Wednesday 24 May 2023 a good Samaritan have approached the family following the suspicions of a serious incident occurred to the victim and through intelligence gathered it was found that the victim was seriously injured from being physically assaulted.
It is reported that members of the community sought medical assistance whereby the victim was rushed by an ambulance to the nearest hospital whereby she succumbed to her injuries.
The Police are investigating a case of murder with two counts of the contravention of immigration act against the couple.
The suspects are due to appear before Nebo Magistrate’s Court on Friday 26 May 2023.
Police investigations are continuing.
