A MAN APPEARS IN COURT FOR DISTRIBUTING PORNOGRAPHIC IMAGES WITH OVERLAID FACES OF THE PRESIDENT & MINISTER OF POLICE.
SREPORTER: TSHEPO C MOLOTO: cebi Thabiso Nene (35), accused of distributing pornographic images with overlaid faces of the president & minister of police, appeared at the Pretoria Magistrates Court for his first appearance. He is facing charges of two counts of crimen injuria, this is after he sent the pornographic images with overlaid faces of the President of South Africa, his excellency, Cyril Ramaphosa, the Minister of Police Bheki Cele, and his wife to a complainant who reported the matter.
After investigations by the HAWKS, Nene was arrested on 21 May 2023 and is remanded in custody. The matter was transferred to Pietermaritzburg Magistrates Court for his appearance on 30 May 2023.
