A 44-YEAR-OLD WOMAN APPREHENDED FOR POSSESSION OF ILLICIT CIGARETTES WORTH OVER TWO HUNDRED THOUSANDS.
REPORTER: TSEPO C MOLOTO: POLOKWANE: Members of Waterberg District Flying Squard have arrested a 44-year-old woman for possession of illicit cigarettes, while Patrolling at N1 South of Nyl Plaza tollgate on Friday, 12 May 2023 at about 09:00.
According to information, the Police were on patrol when they spotted a suspicious motor vehicle ,a white Ford Ranger. They stopped the vehicle, and upon searching it, they found about 1200 cartoons of Chelsea English blend cigarettes at an estimated street value of R240 000.
She was immediately arrested for possession of illicit cigarettes.
The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has applauded the Police for being alert while patrolling which led to the arrest of the suspect.
The suspect will appear before the Mokopane Magistrate’s Court soon.
The Police investigations are still continuing.
