STATEMENT ON THE OUTCOMES OF THE ANC LIMPOPO PROVINCIAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING

The ANC Provincial Executive Committee held its ordinary meeting on the 8 May 2023, in Waterberg Region at Bela Bela. The meeting was convened in Waterberg region in line with a PEC decision to rotate its meetings to all the regions of the province. The PEC discussed the political overview presented by the Provincial Chairperson, which reflected; unity and renewal of the organisation, the incoming general elections, the evaluation of ANC Deployees in all levels of government,The PEC further received the state of organization, state of governance and most importantly engaged on progress on the implementation of key decisions of the PEC and directives from National Executive Committee

ON CONVENING OF REGIONAL MAKGOTLAS

The PEC welcomes the successful convening of the regional Lekgotla by Normal Mashabane Regional Executive Committee, the decisions on the regional Lekgotla should be incorporated in the Municipal Integrated Development Plan of various Municipalities and implemented without fail. The PEC resolved that all other regions which have not convened their regional Makgotlas are directed to convene the same before the end of May 2023.

ON PETER MOKABA SUB REGIONAL ELECTIVE MEETINGS

The African National Congress (ANC) welcomes the outcomes of Peter Mokaba Sub Regional Elective Meetings of Four (4) Sub Regions: Molemole, Polokwane, Sefako Mapogo Makgatho & Blouberg. We wish the newly elected sub regional leadership all the best of success and look forward to their positive contribution towards coordinating the work of the ANC in their respective sub regions and towards the renewal of the ANC.

IMPLEMENTATION OF KGALEMA MOTLANTHE REPORT

The PEC noted the directives issued by the PSO to Peter Mokaba, Sekhukhune & Waterberg Regions in relation to the implementation of the Kgalema Report, and directed that the efforts to implement the report, be doubled. The PEC has expressed displeasure in the snail pace in which some of the deployees are delaying the implementation of the organizational decisions, the PEC directed all structures and deployees to implement PEC decisions with the highest sense of urgency.

ON SEKHUKHUNE MUNICIPALITY & LEPELLE NKUMPI MUNICIPALITY

The ANC PEC expressed displeasure about the Sekhukhune District Municipality’s failure to provide water to the People of Sekhukhune, failure to devolve Water operations and Maintenance functions to local municipalities as part of enhancing the water provision to various communities. The PEC directed the Sub Committie on Legislature and Governance to monitor the Municipal perfomance of resolving water challenges and compliance With PEC Directives , the PEC further resolved that a progress report be tabled in the next PEC meeting for consideration and determination.

The PEC noted the report relating to the state of governance at Lepelle Nkumpi Municipality. The PEC is not pleased with the state of governance, high rate of vacancies at the municipality as well as the spending of the Municipal infrastructure Grant by the Municipality. The PEC directed that both the Capricorn District Municipality and the Department of Coghsta should provide all the necessary support to the Municipality in resolving its challenges, progress on the intervention and results therefore will be presented to the next PEC meeting.

ON THE CALL MADE BY THE ANCYL LIMPOPO

The ANC Limpopo PEC noted the call by the ANCYL for the inclusion of young people in Management, various boards of Soe’s, leadership in various levels of government and in the private sector. The PEC is of the view that the call is genuine and should be given effect both in government and private sector. The PEC directed that officials of the ANC should engage with the ANCYL on all the issues raised and brief the PEC in the next meeting.
