SUSPECT WHO ALLEGEDLY STONED HIS EX-GIRLFRIEND TO DEATH IN GIYANI POLICING HAS HANDED HIMSELF FOR APPREHENSION
POLOKWANE: A 27 year-old male suspect who allegedly stoned his 23-year-old ex-girlfriend who is also his baby mom at Dzingidzingi village, on Saturday 08 April 2023 at around 03h00 has been arrested today on Monday 10 April 2023.
The suspect handed himself at Giyani police station accompanied by his relative after he allegedly fled to Malamulele policing area .
It is alleged, that the victim was with her friend coming from the local tarven going home, when they met her ex-boyfriend. It is alleged that the two had a confrontation before the suspect assault the victim with a stone. Her friend screamed for help and ran to close by households, when she return the victim was critically injured and unconscious. The suspect was nowhere to be found.
The victim was rushed to hospital where she later succumbed to the injuries. She was identified as Nokuthula Sithole aged 23 residing at Dzingidzingi village in Giyani, Mopàni District.
The Police were informed, and a case of murder was opened and manhunt was immediately activated until the suspect handed himself over to the police.
The suspect will appear before the Giyani Magistrate court soon facing charges of murder.
The Police investigations are still continuing.
