FOUR SUSPECTS NABBED FOR POSSESSION OF COPPER CABLE, DEALING AND POSSESSION OF DRUGS IN NORTHAM

POLOKWANE: The Police in Northam have arrested four suspects aged between 25 and 51 for dealing and possession of drugs and one suspect nabbed for possession of suspected stolen copper cables during a tactical intelligence operation conducted in the early hours of Wednesday 15 March 2023 at Northam policing area.

Members of Limpopo Highway Patrol together with Thabazimbi Crime Intelligence received information about suspects dealing in drugs around the area. Operation was activated and as result a 51-year-old female suspect was arrested for dealing and possession of According to the information, Police received tip-off about the suspect selling drugs at Landpark in Northam. She was found in possession of 09×nyaope sachets, 08× rock and 06× cristal myth at an estimated street value of R1500.00.

Meanwhile, a 25-year-old suspect was arrested for dealing and possession of drugs. He was found with 19× sachets of dagga and 02× Cristal Myth drugs, with an estimated street value of R480.00.

In another incident, suspect aged 38 was arrested at Block 7 RDP for dealing and possession of drugs. He was found with 207× Crystal Myth and 248× Nyaope at an estimated street value of R11 170.00.

A 27-year-old suspect was arrested for possession of suspected stolen copper. According to information the Police were patrolling when they spotted a suspicious man carrying a black bag. They approached him, he was searched and they found copper wire in his bag.

The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has commended the Police for always displaying their commitment in the fight against criminal activities in the province.

The suspects will appear before local Magistrate’s Court on Thursday,16 March 2023.
