MEC MAJUBA TO ADDRESS THE CLASS OF 2023 IN MARAPYANE AND NOKANENG CIRCUITS

The MEC for Education, Mr Bonakele Majuba, will, on Thursday, 09 March 2023, address all grade 12 learners from Marapyane and Nokaneng Circuits in the Dr. JS Moroka Local Municipality in Nkangala District at 09H00.

These circuits have schools that performed below 70% pass rate following the announcement of the 2022 National Senior Certificate Examination Results. As such, the MEC will urge the current cohort of learners to stay focused and work even harder to improve their scholastic performance.

Any school within the province that performs below 70% pass rate is deemed to be underperforming and dysfunctional. Every effort and support is offered by the department to encourage all the role-players to turn the tide around in the best interest of learners performance.

The Province intends to improve the Grade 12 results to 83% this time around and has already started to work collaboratively with all relevant sectors and institutions to ensure that schools are supported towards the realization of the set goals.

The MEC will be accompanied by a team from Vodacom, which will be promoting the VODACOM e- learning school. The Executive Mayor of Dr. JS Moroka Local Municipality will also be in attendance.

The media is invited to cover the event at Seruane Secondary School in Marapyane Circuit in the Dr JS Moroka Local Municipality in Nkangala District from 09H00.
