AFRICAN NATIONAL CONGRESS WELCOMES CHANGES MADE TO THE NATIONAL
EXECUTIVE
The African National Congress (ANC) welcomes changes made by President Cyril
Ramaphosa to the National Executive. The ANC believes that these changes affirm the
resolution to decisively advance people’s interests and renew South Africa.
The President’s changes are in line with commitments made during the State of the
Nation Address (SONA) and the Cabinet Lekgotla. It is motivated by the drive to
accelerate service delivery to the people of South Africa.
We particularly welcome the appointment of Comrade Paul Mashatile as the Deputy
President of the Republic. Comrade Paul Mashatile is a tried and tested leader who has
diligently served the people of South Africa in various capacities.
The introduction of the Minister of Electricity and the Minister of Monitoring and
Evaluation are a testament to the ANC’s commiment to urgently address the electricity
crisis whilst also ushering in an era of greater accountability and performance.
We extend our good wishes to newly appointed and assigned Ministers who, with the
collective of Cabinet, are tasked with fast tracking efforts underway to address our
country’s pressing needs. The ANC will also ensure that all its deployees are held
accountable as they are expected to act with speed in the execution of their roles.
The ANC echoes the gratitude of the President to previous members of the National
Executive and wish them well in their new responsibilities and endeavours.
