SAMWU to brief media on fraud and corruption that has riddled JRA.
The South African Municipal Workers’ Union (SAMWU) will be briefing the media on the fraud and corruption at the Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) which has largely resulted in the failure by the agency to service the City’s roads, with many in a state of disarray. The JRA which is responsible for constructing and maintaining the City’s roads has one of the largest budgets within the City and its resources have been siphoned by a few individuals for personal gain.
In the briefing, the Union will provide evidence in its possession confirming the fraud and corruption which both the City and the agency have failed to act on. We will further be giving the City an opportunity to immediately address these greedy acts which have denied residents of services and also be laying criminal charges against those implicated.
