PREMIER MATHABATHA HOLDS CONSULTATIONS AHEAD OF THE STATE OF THE PROVINCE ADDRESS

The Premier of Limpopo, Mr Chupu Stanley Mathabatha, has successfully held stakeholder engagements ahead of the State of the Province Address. The Premier met with the Congress of Traditional Leaders of South Africa, Limpopo House of Traditional Leaders, South African Council of Churches, and the Liberation War Veterans on 14 and 15 February 2023.

“These are necessary consultations we use to share with various stakeholders areas that we shall reflect on in the State of the Province Address. We utilise these sessions to source wisdom from the leadership of various sectors. We are pleased that, amongst others, they raised matters on economic recovery, job creation, infrastructure development, energy, water provision, gender-based violence and femicide, rural and township development, education, and governance in general.  Their invaluable input has enhanced the content we shall share with the people of Limpopo on 23 February 2023,” said Premier Mathabatha.

The Chairperson of the Limpopo House of Traditional Leaders, Hosi Pheni Ngove, expressed appreciation for meeting the Premier ahead of the SOPA. “This is a milestone, to have the Premier consult us before he delivers a speech of this magnitude. We understand the processes leading to the SOPA as well as other matters that may not be addressed on the day, but glad that they will find expression in the various budget speeches by Members of the Executive Council,” Hosi Ngove remarked.

Leaders of all the various organisations who met with Premier Mathabatha, expressed their collective appreciation towards the consultative process. The Limpopo State of the Province Address will be held on 23 February 2023, at Jack Botes Hall in the City of Polokwane.
