A MAN ACCUSED OF KILLING A TUT STUDENT ABANDONS BAIL

An accused man Ngcebo Thuso (23), suspected of killing a Tshwane University of Technology student, has abandoned his bail application at the Pretoria Magistrates’ Court. He is facing a charge of murder and defeating the administration of justice.

It is alleged that the accused was the last person to leave the deceased’s place Ntokozo Mayenzi Xaba (20), at midnight or the early hours of the morning, after she and her other friends had a social gathering at her place in Pretoria Gardens on 01 February 2023.

The deceased’s lifeless body with multiple stab wounds was found in the morning by friends when they went to check on her. The matter was reported to the police and the accused was arrested on 02 February 2023.

In court, the prosecutor Mashudu Nembulunge told the court that the state intended to oppose bail in the matter, and the case was postponed to 30 March 2023, for further investigations.
