ANC LIMPOPO STATEMENT ON THE OUTCOMES OF THE PROVINCIAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING .

On Monday the 6th February 2023, the Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) of the African National Congress in Limpopo held its ordinary meeting at Frans Mohlala House. The PEC Meeting was convened to assess the state of the organisation in the province and to prepare for the Provincial Lekgotla. This was the first PEC meeting post the National Conference of the ANC.

The PEC meeting received the Political overview from the Provincial Chairperson Cde Chupu Stanley Mathabatha whom amongst other issues emphasised the need to fully support the call for the unity and renewal of the African National Congress and further embrace the outcomes of the National Conference on both content and form.

The Provincial Chairperson also emphasized to the PEC meeting that unity of the organisation should not only be reflected in theory; however, it must equally be reflected in practice through our actions as leaders and revolutionaries.

The PEC meeting further received the report of the Provincial Working Committee, presented by the Provincial Secretary Cde Reuben Madadzhe, extensively deliberated on various reports presented and took the following decisions;

ON THE ANC 55TH NATIONAL CONFERENCE

The PEC welcomes the outcomes of the ANC National Conference both in terms of the resolution as well as the entire National Executive Committee (NEC) as led by President Cyril Ramaphosa.

The PEC further congratulates all NEC / NWC members, and the PEC is specifically pleased with the number of comrades from Limpopo branches who were elected to the NEC and and also appreciate that for the first time in the history of the ANC, the ANC is composed of an official in the Top Seven (7) from our province.

The PEC also committed not to only support the leadership but to equally defend the leadership against any form of unwarranted attacks by counter revolutionary forces.

ON ELECTRICITY CRISIS

The PEC noted with serious concern the continuous impact of loadshedding, which disrupt the livelihood of the South Africans. The PEC further noted that opposition parties are now using electricity challenge as a political launching pad for the 2024 National Elections in an attempt to dislodge the ANC. It is now more urgent that the State should do all that is necessary to end loadshedding.. The PEC fully support all necessary intervention mechanism as pronounced by ANC National Lekgotla which aims at resolving and putting an end to loadsheding and we equally support Minister of Energy and Mineral Resorces : Cde Gwede Mantashe’s call for the improvement of the performance of Eskom’s existing coal power stations whilst upgrading and expanding current capacity which will give effect to Just Energy Transition.

THE ANC PROVINCIAL LEKGOTLA

The ANC Limpopo resolved to host the Provincial Lekgotla from the 13th to 14th February 2023 at the Ranch Hotel outside Polokwane. The Lekgotla will assess the state of governance as well as services delivery in the Provincial Government and Municipalities and further make determination on how the ANC conference resolutions and January 8 Statement find expression within the provincial and local sphere of government in the next twelve (12) month. The current administration will have to account on the promises we made to the people of Limpopo and how far went in terms of the implementation of such promises with specific focus to water and roads infrustructure.

THE OUTCOMES OF THE BY – ELECTIONS IN WARD 10 & 17

The ANC in Limpopo noted the outcomes of the By-elections held on 25 January 2023 in Ward 10, Polokwane and Ward 17 in Blouberg. The PEC expressed it displeasure in our inability to reclaim Ward 10 and welcome the outcomes of Ward 17 where the ANC retained the ward. The ANC PEC sends a message of gratitude to all its structures and volunteers for the hard work displayed during the process leading up to the by-election.

ANCYL LIMPOPO PROVINCIAL CONFERENCE & APPOINTMENT OF ANCVL PTT

The ANC Limpopo PEC welcomes the outcomes of the ANCYL Limpopo Provincial Conference and commit to work side by side with ANCYL in mobilizing young people of the province towards the banner of the African National Congress. The ANC PEC further notes and welcomes the appointment of the Provincial Task Team of ANC Veterans League as led by Cde Phala Phiroane as the Convenor and Cde Nkoana Sechaba as the Coordinator.
We wish both ANCYL Limpopo PEC and the ANCVL PTT well in their respective responsibilities.

THE DEPLOYMENT OF CDE MAROPENG RAMAKGOPA AS THE MEMBER OF NATIONAL ASSEMBLY.

The ANC Limpopo welcomes the deployment of Cde Maropeng Ramokgopa as the member of the National Assembly. We have no doubt that she will diligently put her skills and competency at the disposal of the South African parliament with distinction. The PEC wishes her well in her new responsibility and commit to provide unwavering support.

ON PROVINCIAL DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE (PDC)

The Provincial Executive Committee received a report in relation to the disciplinary matters of deployees attached to Lephalale Municipality whom brought the organisation into disrepute. The PEC welcomes the outcomes of the Provincial Disciplinary Committee as well as the suspension sanction against such members.

The PEC notes that appeals were lodged by three (3) members who were found guilty and whose membership were suspended for a particular period, the implementation of the outcomes of the PDC will be held in abeyance pending the outcomes of the National Disciplinary Committee ( NDC).

ON DISSOLUTION OF DYSFUNCTIONAL BRANCHES

The ANC Limpopo PEC received and considered recommendations from Norman Mashabane, Peter Mokaba and Waterberg Regions relating to dissolution of branches that are dysfunctional and their terms of office have lapsedz and failed to convene BBGM’s.The PEC has directed the PEC Officials to handle the matter in consultation with affected Regions and provide a report to the next Provincial Executive Committee Meeting.

THE ANC LIMPOPO JANUARY 8 STATEMENT

The ANC Limpopo PEC has resolved to host the ANC Limpopo Provincial editions of the January 8 and 111 Anniversary on the 25th February 2023 in Sekhukhune Region, Makhuduthamaga Sub-region : Masemola Stadium Further information relating to logistics and will be communicated in due course.

THE ON-GOING MEDIA ONSLAUGHT AGAINST THE PROVINCIAL CHAIRPERSON – CDE CHUPU STANLEY MATHABATHA

The ANC Limpopo PEC has noted the continuous onslaught against the Provincial Chairperson by some section of the media, to this effect the PEC calls upon all media houses to refrain from being used as political foddle against the Provincial Chairperson and thus seeks to divide the PEC. The PEC expresses its full confidence in the Provincial Chairperson Cde Chupu Stanley Mathabatha and call upon all members to refrain from public spats that has the potential to divide the ANC.

ON THE AUDIT OUTCOMES OF MUNICIPALITY

The ANC Limpopo PEC notes the Audit outcomes relating to the Municipalities in Limpopo for the year 2020/21. The outcomes are a clear demonstration that the ANC-led Government is on the right path to improve the financial control measures in various municipality.

As the PEC, we welcome and congratulate Capricorn District Municipality and Waterberg District Municipality for obtaining clean audits, we encourage all other Municipalities to improve their adludit outcomes above their current statuses and we express our displeasure to the outcome of disclaimer obtained by Mopani District Municipality, to that effect, the ANC sub-committee will be directed to interact with the PMT & Caucus in the municipality and present a report in the next PEC meeting.

ON CONDOLENCES
PEC sends heartfelt condolences to the families of our fallen heroes, may the revolutionary souls of the Veterans Cde Rashaka Ratshitanga & Hlalifi Mashamaite and the Deputy Chairperson of ANC Vhembe Region Cde Makonde Mathivha rest in eternal peace.
