Limpopo Health MEC Dr Phophi Ramathuba will visit Mankweng Hospital on Christmas day to support health care workers who will be on duty as well as welcoming the newly born babies. This is a practice that the MEC undertakes annually to support staff who are working tirelessly even during the festive season.

The MEC’s visit is part of the continuous movement towards improving maternal and child health care services in our province The Department has over the years, sought to prioritize on improving both the quality and experience of care for women, more especially pregnant women.

“Many of us will be spending time with our families during this festive season, and our health care workers have dedicated their time to provide quality health care service to our people. We are delighted that this year, we will be back in the maternity wards physically to welcome and shower gifts to the Christmas babies and their mothers. In the last two years, we could not have physical visits to our facilities due to COVID-19 restrictions. We continue to extend our words of appreciation especially to all those working within the trauma and emergency unit, all those working within maternity and neonatal units, theatres and ICU staff which are some of the busiest units during this period”, said MEC Ramathuba.
