UPDATE ON THE MURDER OF THE MAYOR OF COLLINS CHABANE MUNICIPALITY
POLOKWANE: The team that was assembled to probe the murder of the Mayor of Collins Chabane Municipality, Cllr Moses Maluleka, who was shot dead at his house in Saselamani on Thursday 21 July 2022, succeeded in linking the sixth suspect to the murder.
The 31-year-old suspect, was on the radar of the investigating team since the Mayor was killed and was cornered in Thohoyandou on 30 October 2022.Before he could be apprehended, he allegedly started firing at the police who returned fire and was in the process shot and injured. He was then hospitalized.
He is facing a series of other serious crimes, including the Murder of a Legal Aid Lawyer in Thohoyandou and business robberies committed in the Vhembe District.
The suspect will appear in the Malamulele Magistrate’s Court tomorrow, on Tuesday 13 December 2022. He will appear together with his five accomplices who will be applying for bail.
