Premier Mathabatha Appreciates Granting of Special Official Provincial
Funeral to Veteran Vho-Rashaka Ratshiṱanga
The Premier of Limpopo, Mr Chupu Stanley Mathabatha has welcomed the President’s
granting of the Special Official Provincial Funeral to the veteran Vho-Rashaka Frank
Ratshiṱanga who passed away on 28 November 2022.
President Maṱamela Cyril Ramaphosa approved the request by Premier Mathabatha to
have the funeral as an official provincial funeral.
The South African national flag in Limpopo will be hoisted at half mast on the date of the
funeral, 03 December 2022 and all other flags will not be hoisted. This is a sign of
respect that is paid to the veteran of the struggle.
Recounting the role the Ratshiṱanga has played, Premier Mathabatha said:
“Ratshitanga showed dedication to the struggle against injustice, and his active
commitment to the development of South Africa has seen him earn the Order of Baobab
in Bronze.”
Funeral Service is Saturday, 03 December 2022 at University of Venda Auditorium
from 07:00
The family has also organised a memorial service to be held at George Phadagi Hall on
Friday, 02 December 2022 at 14:00
