STEPFATHER ARRESTED FOR MURDER OF HIS ONE YEAR OLD DAUGHTER IN TUBATSE
POLOKWANE The 31 year old suspect Norman Moraba apprehended for murder and assault in alleged domestic violence related, has appeared in the Praktiseer Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday 11 July 2023. The case was postponed to 19 July for formal bail application.
This comes after the Police in Tubatse on Sunday 09 July, arrested the suspect for allegedly killing a 1-year-old girl and assaulting his girlfriend.
A complaint was given to Police from Bothashoek village outside Burgersfort about the suspected assault of a minor by her stepfather.
Upon arrival of the Police at the scene of crime, the 1-year-old girl was found lying unconscious. She was certified dead on the scene by the paramedics
Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect, a stepfather allegedly assaulted the victim in the absence of the mother with unknown object. It is reported that the 28-year-old mother left the deceased with her 3-year-old sister at about 18:00 to search for the boyfriend at a tavern in Praktiseer.
The suspect allegedly returned before the mother and subsequently assaulted the child.
When the mother returned home she was also assaulted by the suspect.
Police investigation continues.
