THE PROVINCIAL COMMISSIONER OF POLICE IN LIMPOPO APPLAUDS THE COLLABORATIVE EFFORT BETWEEN POLICE AND STAKEHOLDERS

POLOKWANE The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has applauded the multi disciplinary forces impact in the fight against against all forms of criminality in the province. This after the Waterberg Task Team, Northam Crime Prevention Unit, Northam Rural Safety, Northam Y Cops and Amandelbult Protection Services apprehended two male suspects for possession of 28 rolls of copper cables.

It is alleged that on Saturday 2026 April 18 at about 18h00 the multi-disciplinary team was busy with stop and search operation when they encountered two males carrying a red bag. Inside the bag 28 rolls of copper cables was found and the two suspects could not provide proof in terms of its originality.

The estimated street value of the cables is R3500.00. The duo aged 65 and 42 respectively were arrested and detained at Northam Police Station.

“The importance of collaboration in fighting crime in the province cannot be over emphasized. The role of various stakeholders is equally important and it serves as a force multiplier in our quest to fight crime and this is bearing fruits and creating a crime free environment” Concluded General Hadebe.

The two suspects are expected to appear before the local Magistrate’s Court soon on charges of possession of suspected stolen property.
