MURDER CASE OPENED AFTER MISSING 15-YEAR-OLD GIRL FOUND DEAD IN ROTTERDAM VILLAGE, HLANGANANI POLICING AREA
POLOKWANE: Police in Hlanganani have opened a murder case following the discovery of the lifeless body of a 15-year-old girl, Xilaveko Suke, who was previously reported missing together with her father at Rotterdam Village.
The deceased was reported missing on Monday, 22 December 2025, after she allegedly left home with her father, Peter Themba Baloyi, purportedly travelling to Giyani. A public appeal was subsequently issued to solicit assistance from the community in tracing their whereabouts.
On Thursday, 25 December 2025, at around 08:50, police received a report regarding the discovery of a body at the father’s place of residence at Rotterdam Village. Upon arrival at the scene, the deceased’s paternal grandmother, pointed out the body of a young girl inside a one-room house.
Police further established that the body of the 15 years old was in a partially state of decomposition and had a visible stab wound.
The whereabouts of the father, who was reported missing together with the deceased, remain unknown, and police are continuing with intensive efforts to trace him.
Latest developments is that on Thursday 25 December 2025 police were alerted of the house of the deceased’s father which was found burned on 25 December 2025, at around 18:00, and police attended the scene.
Police investigations into the circumstances surrounding this incident are ongoing.
