FIVE MALE SUSPECTS ARRESTED FOR HOUSE ROBBERY IN DENNILTON REMANDED IN CUSTODY
POLOKWANE – Five male suspects aged between 23 and 37, arrested in connection with a house robbery that occurred earlier this month in Dennilton under the Sekhukhune District, have been remanded in custody until 27 November 2025.The suspects appeared before the Moutse Magistrate’s Court today, Wednesday 19 November 2025.
The suspects-Lerato Phahlane (28), Sello Simon Mashake (36), Dickson Dube (37), Calvin Mathalisa (23) and Tshepo Jabu Phahlane (27)- are facing charges of house robbery and possession of suspected stolen property. Their case was postponed to Monday, 24 November 2025 for a formal bail application.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects allegedly broke into a house, robbed a female victim of her cellphone, and transferred cash from the victim’s account to their own before fleeing the scene with the stolen cellphone.
A multidisciplinary tracing operation led investigators to various locations, including Siyabuswa in Mpumalanga, as well as Marble Hall, Dennilton and Matlerekeng in the Sekhukhune District on Tuesday. All five suspects were successfully apprehended, and the victim’s cellphone was recovered.
The Provincial Commissioner of police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has applauded the investigating team for their swift and coordinated efforts which led to the apprehension of the suspects.
Police investigations are continuing.
