Businessman Brown Mogotsi has made serious allegations against KwaZulu-Natal police commissioner Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi and Zulu King Misuzulu kaZwelithini, claiming they worked with the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to protect Israeli interests. Testifying before the Madlanga Commission, Mogotsi stated that he received information from a source suggesting the pair were recruited by the CIA, citing concerns over coal exports and potential disruption to operations linked to Israeli interests.
Mogotsi, a former Umkhonto weSizwe operative and Crime Intelligence agent, claimed Mkhwanazi and King Misuzulu were “activated” to safeguard Western interests, particularly in the Richards Bay area, a major coal export hub. He alleged Mkhwanazi assigned the Political Killings Task Team to harass and intimidate members of Prince Simakade’s household, with cases opened against them never investigated
