The SAPS embraces the life sentence that was handed down to Alex Thato Tshipagaebonwe (19), for raping a 6-year-old girl not related to him in Batlharos, near Kuruman.
On 12 September 2021, at approximately 10:00, the 6 year female victim was playing with friends, when she was accosted by the accused.
The accused took her into a nearby room and raped her and after the ordeal, the victim reported the incident to her mother and the accused was subsequently arrested.
Alex Thato Tshipagaebonwe was sentenced to life imprisonment for rape.
The Acting District Commissioner for John Taolo Gaetsewe, Brigadier Kenneth Baloyi commended Detective Constable Tholakele Majola.
