THOHOYADOU POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING INQUEST FOLLOWING THREE YOUNG CHILDREN WHO PERISHED IN THE FIRE BLAZE
The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has learned with shock of an incident in which three children aged between 2 and 4 died after a fire break out at Itsani village on Friday 29 August 2025.
The police on duty received a report about a house that was burning with kids inside. The police urgently proceeded to the scene of crime where they found the fire brigades busy extinguishing the fire.
When the fire was extinguished it was discovered that three kids were burned beyond recognition.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the kids where playing next to the one room house. and it is not clear how the kids ended up inside the house. The cause of fire is unknown.
The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo directed that experts be summoned to assist in the investigation Further investigations will be conducted as part of investigations
The Provincial Commissioner has further directed that Police should investigate the possibilty of charging of parents or guardians of these kids with negligence or failure to take care of minors .
