ARREST OF A MAN WHO ASSAULTED A NURSE AT MALAMULELE HOSPITAL
MEC Dieketseng Mashego has welcomed the quick arrest of a man who assaulted a nurse at Malamulele Hospital.
In the early hours of this morning, a male patient, admitted to the male ward after he was involved in an accident, refused treatment. During this time, he assaulted a nurse, claiming his belongings were missing.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) responded immediately and arrested the patient for physical assault.
MEC Mashego stated, “We must ensure the safety of our healthcare workers. Violence against them will not be tolerated. I appreciate the prompt action taken by SAPS in this situation.”
The department is committed to maintaining a safe environment for both patients and healthcare staff.
