MASSIVE MANHUNT OF A 24 YEAR-OLD MALE SUSPECT ACTIVATED FOLLOWING THE DISCOVERY OF UNLICENSED FIREARMS AND AMMUNITION AT HIS PARENTAL RESIDENCE IN SEKHUKHUNE DISTRICT
POLOKWANE : On Friday 28 February 2025, members of the Sekhukhune Tracking and Investigation Team together with Groblersdal Vehicle Crime Investigation Unit (VCIU) followed up on intelligence information received from members of Marble Hall regarding a 24 male suspected to be in possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, explosives, dealing in drugs including Contravention of Stock-Theft Act.
The Police discovered that the suspect was intending to depart from his residence at Hlogotlou precinct to Burgersfort policing area while in possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle reportedly stolen in November 2024 at Sinoville policing area, Gauteng province.
They rushed to the vicinity and the suspected stolen motor vehicle was positively spotted along Monsterlus public road driven by a woman and was immediately stopped.
Police enquired about the owner and she responded that it belongs to her 24 year-old son.
Afterwards, followed the woman to her residence and on arrival, police searched the 24 old’s his room. During the search, one shot gun with ammunition underneath the mattress and one firearm with another ammunition concealed inside the ceiling were discovered.
Furthermore, police seized three sales documents, different brand marks and tatoos of unknown livestock.
The operation continued until a 28 year-old male suspect believed to be one of the suspect’s main distributors of the drugs was located and found in possession of 21 sachets of nyaope drugs. He was therefore placed under an arrest on the spot.

A 28 year-old male suspect is due to appear before the Nebo Magistrate court on Monday, 03 March 2025 facing a charge of possession and dealing in drugs.
