MANHUNT FOR SUSPECTS INVOLVED IN STOCK THEFT INCIDENT AT OLIFANTSPOORT CHICKEN FARM

POLOKWANE: Modimolle police are on the hunt for unknown suspects involved in a stock theft incident at Olifantspoort chicken farm on 26 August 2024 at about 18:00.

Preliminary reports indicated that, the victim closed 374 live chickens inside the locked cage while he was at the farm on Sunday, 25 August 2024. He discovered the next morning that the mesh wire was also forced open, and that the cage had been forced open on its left side, even though the door was still locked. 227 live chickens were stolen.

The case was transferred to Modimolle Stocktheft for further investigation.

The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has ordered police to locate and apprehend the suspects using all available means of resources.

Police are appealing to anyone with information that can assist with the arrest of the suspects to contact Investigating Officer Constable Votji Ronny on 082 443 8885, nearest police station, or share information on MySAPSApp.

Police investigations are still ongoing.
