POLICE IN GIYANI ARE INVESTIGATING MURDER AND ROBBERY NCIDENTS IN SEPARATE LOCATIONS .

POLOKWANE: The police in Giyani ,Mopani District have launched a search for three male suspects who allegedly robbed the two brothers who were hitch hiking on Saturday 24 August 2024 at Siyandhani village at about 13:40.

The reports indicate that two male victims, who are resident at Mapuve village were at Siyandhani hiking spot when a grey dark Toyota Yaris motor vehicle with three male suspects which was heading the direction of Mapuve stopped and offerred them a lift.

While on the way at Siyandhani village, the motor vehicle suddenly drove into the nearby bushes and an altercation erupted between the three suspects and the brothers . One suspect took out a firearm and pointed at the two siblings.

A 42 year-old male victim attempted to take out his firearm from his waist, but the suspects shot and overpowered the brothers The suspects disarmed the victims of their licensed firearm.

The two victims managed to sneak out of the vehicle and were assisted by the members of the community who summoned the Emergency Medical Services (EMS).

Following the incident, one male victim was found with gunshot wounds inside the motor vehicle at Mageva village on Saturday 23 August 2024 at about 19h00. Although the circumstances surrounding the second incident remain unknown at this stage police are investigating the possibility that these two incidents may be linked.

A manhunt for the suspects is underway and police request anyone with information that can assist in the investigation to contact Sgt. Michael Shivhuri on 079 496 0718 or crime stop number 08600 10111 or nearest police station or MySAPSApp.
