A MAN APPEARS IN COURT FOR KILLING HIS LOVER
Jeremiah Oupa Mabena (41) from Duduza in Nigel, abandoned his bail application at the Nigel Magistrates’ Court. He is facing a charge of murder for allegedly killing his 25-year-old girlfriend Palesa Chapole.
It is alleged that on 04 August 2024, at about 20H00, two of the accused friends went to the accused place of residence to ask for dagga to smoke. When they arrived, the accused was already asleep, the deceased opened for them.
After the accused person gave them the dagga they left, however the deceased left with them. When the three arrived at one of the friend’s places also in Duduza, the accused soon arrived and started shouting at the deceased. The accused then started assaulting and dragging the deceased back to his place. The naked body was later found on 07 August 2024 under a bridge in Duduza by a stranger who was passing by the bridge. After investigations by police, the accused was arrested on 12 August 2024. In court, the matter was postponed to 26 September 2024, for further investigations and the accused is remanded in custody.
