THE SAPS ANTI-SMUGGLING TASK TEAM IN LIMPOPO ARREST SUSPECT ATTEMPTING TO SMUGGLE A R900, 000.00 WORTH TOYOTA PRADO VX

POLOKWANE: Members of Limpopo SAPS Provincial Anti-Smuggling Task Team arrested a 32-year-old man, on Thursday, 08 August 2024 for possession of presumed stolen motor vehicle, following a tip-off about a stolen vehicle that was in progress of being smuggled out of the country to Zimbabwe through Beitbridge Port of entry.

The team responded promptly, and a white Toyota Prado vx, which was reported stolen on Monday, 05 August 2024 in Villieria policing area, Pretoria in Gauteng province was spotted at the R37 from Lebowakgomo to Polokwane.

The Police stopped the vehicle, and upon searching it, the driver, who is a South African, was unable to produce the valid documents of the vehicle. He was apprehended on the spot for possession of presumed stolen motor vehicle.

The Police established that the vehicle, a white Toyota Prado, is at a value of R900 000.

The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has welcomed the arrest and commended the members for always being dedicated to their duties and persistently recover the stolen vehicles.

The arrested suspect will appear before the Thabamoopo Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 12 August 2024.

The Police investigations are ongoing.
