PRETRIAL ON BOSASA AND CORRECTIONAL SERVICES R1,8 BILLION FRAUD CASE POSTPONED

The Pretoria High Court postponed the pretrial conference on the corruption case against the former Department of Correctional Services (DCS) Commissioner, Linda Mti, former DCS Chief Financial Officer, Patrick Gillingham and former BOSASA Chief Financial Officer, Andries Van Tonder, to 28 January 2025 to await the outcome of their application for the release of their property to apply for living and legal expenses following a restraint order being obtained by the Asset Forfeiture Unit (AFU).

The matter against the former Chief Operations Officer of BOSASA, Angelo Agrizzi, who is also charged in this matter, had to be separated, owing to his ill health. His matter is also set for 28 January 2025.

The accused are facing charges of fraud, conspiracy to commit fraud, corruption, and money laundering. These charges are in connection with four tenders allegedly awarded to BOSASA and its subsidiaries, valued at over R1,8 billion, between August 2004 up to 2007. The contracts were for rendering of catering and training services, installation of CCTV cameras, perimeter fencing and the supply of television systems and monitoring equipment.
