- Qualification: National Certificate in Gaming Operations (NQF Level 3)
- Duration: 12 months
- Location: Cape Town (GrandWest Casino)
- Focus: Casino operations + customer service
You’ll be trained to work directly on the casino floor as a table games dealer or gaming assistant.
What You’ll Learn
This programme is very people-focused. You’ll learn:
- How to run casino table games (like blackjack, roulette, etc.)
- Customer service and guest interaction
- Explaining rules and assisting players
- Handling cash/gaming chips responsibly
- Following strict gaming laws and procedures
Minimum Requirements
You need:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Age 18–35
- Must be unemployed
- No criminal record
- Willing to:
- Work shifts (including nights)
- Work weekends & holidays
- Work in a smoking environment
- Able to qualify for a gaming license
Important Things to Consider
This learnership is not for everyone:
- You’ll be on your feet a lot
- You’ll work late nights
- It’s very customer-facing (you deal with people constantly)
- You must be comfortable in a casino environment
